Author Visits

Direct contact with authors is a valuable and pleasure-filled learning experience.  The school librarians have coordinated a number author visits to Balfron High School Library, including visits by Eleanor Updale, Keith Gray, Nicola Morgan and Bernard MacLaverty. Author visits have been funded, in part, by Scottish Book Trust's Live Literature Scotland Scheme www.scottishbooktrust.com. In addition, pupils have attended live performances by authors, and dramatised versions of authors' works at the Edinburgh International Book festival and other performance venues and theatres.
