Mrs Paterson-Reid,
English Department
I loved 'Twelfth Night' - 'if music be
the food of love, play on', 'write loyal cantons of contemned
love/and sing them loud even in the dead of night,' 'He will
come to her in yellow stockings.. and cross-garter'd...' 'And a
great while ago the world began, with a hey, ho, the wind and
the rain...'
The characters are priceless: giving and taking of the world's
cornucopia of love and laughter. |
 |
| My all-time favourite has got to be
'Pride and Prejudice'. Why? Elizabeth Bennet is a feisty heroine
with a sense of humour which acknowledges the ironic but gives
empathy to other characters. |
 |
| What am I reading now? I’m reading
several books at the same time (as one does!); 'The Year of the
Jouncer' by Simon Gray; 'The Never Ending Days of Being Dead' by
Marcus Chown and 'The Sword of Honour Trilogy' by Evelyn
Waugh.... and of course, 'The Deadly Hallows'... what a great
tie up of different storylines and characters! |
