S3 Intermediate 2 Product Design

During the course in S3 Product Design pupils will be covering work in Unit 1 - Design Analysis and Unit 3 – Manufacturing Products. 

Type of homework

Homework for each of these units will be given at varying times throughout the year, depending on the type of work being covered.  Within Unit 1 the homework will focus on the extension and consolidation of core design process principles. During Unit 3 the homework will be based on the further research and investigation of materials and there properties, and the processes which allow manufacturing of such materials.

Frequency and expected duration

On each occasion homework is given out, a period of 1 week will be given, for pupils to complete it. In S3, the general frequency will be fortnightly, but on occasions where pupils have not covered appropriate amount of work in the classroom this may be extended.
