Standard Grade Homework
Brief description of the principles/rationale of homework for
Standard Grade Physics
Homework is an integral part of the Standard Grade course and is
designed to compliment the content and provide opportunities to extend
students skills and knowledge. The style of the units varys and as a
result the style of homework task varies over the two years. An emphasis
on exam practise and improving problem solving skills becomes more
evident later in S4 for example.

Personal research
Exam questions
Short answer questions
Reading newspapers and researching news stories linked to the course.
Preparing presentations
Frequency and expected duration
Homework may be given up to once a week depending on individual
progress and the demands of the topic being studied. Tasks can last up
to an hour and usually a week is given for completion. |
