Standard Grade Physics

AIM OF COURSE

Physics aims to help pupils understand their physical environment, from the creation of stars in the Milky Way to the behaviour of milk in a cup of tea.

Physics allows pupils to take full advantage of all modern aspects of our increasingly technological society.

COURSE CONTENT

The course is organised into 7 units :

Telecommunications Using Electricity

Transport

Health Physics,

Electronics,

Energy Matters,

Space Physics

ASSESSMENT

Grades will be given for Knowledge and Understanding, Problem Solving and Practical Abilities.   The first two of these are assessed by external written examination; the last is assessed within the school, but moderated on a national basis.
