Advanced Higher Mathematics
AIMS OF COURSE
The course aims to build
on previous mathematical skills, knowledge and understanding and
enables the integration of knowledge of different aspects of the
subject. The course offers depth and breadth of mathematical
experience and provides a sound basis for progression to further
study or employment in the areas of mathematical and physical
sciences, computer science, engineering, biological and social
sciences, medicine, accounting, business and management.
Entry to the course
Normally students should
have obtained a good pass at Higher Mathematics.
Students who have not
obtained an A at Higher Mathematics will find this course very
challenging.

The course is made up of
three units, Mathematics 1, 2 and 3.

Assessment
This course is assessed by
internal assessment of Units using materials provided by the SQA and
an external examination set and marked by the SQA.
