Standard Grade Homework
Brief Description of Course
During
this 2 year practical based course, pupils study 15 topics of work.
Each topic lasts on average
for 4/5 weeks covering subjects such as The Chemical World, Atoms,
Fuels, Writing Chemical equations, Metals and corrosion, Acids and
alkalis, Plastics and Fertilisers.
Many
of the topics are interdependent dealing with important concepts in
Chemistry which relate to the world about us.
Type of Homework
The formal homework issued consists of a homework booklet for each
of the 15 topics containing Knowledge and Understanding and Problem
Solving questions at both General and Credit levels. The homework
provided consists of a variety of styles of questions and is of
examination standard.
Frequency
A substantial piece of homework is issued during each of the 15
topics with regular advice as to the progress expected. Under
normal circumstances, notice of the final submission date is
given 1 week in advance. Homework will also be used as a method
of completion of classwork, and pupils will be expected to plan
the revision of completed work and the learning of Chemistry
facts. |
