Homework
Brief Description of
Course During this practical based course
pupils study 3 units of work. The titles of the units are ‘Energy
Matters’, ‘The World of Carbon’ and ‘Chemical Reactions’.
Topics of work include Feedstocks and Fuels,
Biomolecules, Thermochemistry, Radioisotopes, Chemical Equilibrium,
Reaction Rates and Molecules to Moles.
Type of Homework
There will be 3 pieces of formal homework issued for each
of the 3 units of work. The homework questions will be included in the
pupil’s booklet and will include questions on all the areas of work in
the unit. Many of the questions will be of SQA standard both in the
knowledge and understanding and problem solving areas.
Frequency
The homework assignments for each topic are in the
pupil’s booklet. Completion of each assignment will involve pupils
answering questions on a regular basis in order to facilitate the
completion by the arranged date. Pupils are also expected to plan the
revision of completed classwork and the learning of Chemistry facts on a
regular basis. |
