Standard Grade Chemistry
AIM OF COURSE
The aim of the
Standard Grade Chemistry course is to show pupils the importance of
Chemistry in every day life by helping them to understand
·
the
nature of many materials which we use such as plastic, fuel and
metals
·
how
substances are made up and how chemical reactions can change things
·
the
social, economical and industrial implications of the Chemical
industry.
The course will
include a teacher led approach consisting of a mixture of bookwork
and practical work, which will encourage pupils to be more
responsible for their own learning and help develop the core skills
of problem solving.
