S2 Homework

Brief Description of Course

During the practical based course, pupils study 2 topics of work.  The titles of the topics are “The Chemistry of the Earth” and “Hydrogen, Water and Acids”.  The topics take approximately 8 weeks and 4 weeks respectively.

Type of Homework

The formal homework consists of homework booklet / sheets for each of the 2 topics. Each homework contains sections of work based on knowledge and understanding and problem solving type questions.  The homework provided consists of questions of a variety of styles including multiple choice, graphs and data handling.

Frequency

The homework assignments, within each topic of work, are issued at varying stages in the topic. Pupils are expected to complete the homework, which is embedded within the course, by answering questions every 1-2 weeks. Pupils are also expected to plan the revision of completed classwork and the learning of Chemistry facts on a regular basis
